Describe eight types of influence tactics, three consequences of influencing others and three contingencies to consider when choosing an influence tactic
The following are the eight different types of influence tactics: Assertiveness, deliberately exercising lawful and coercive power; information control, or influencing others' access to information; silent authority, when someone agrees with a request because of the requester's legitimate power and expectations; When those who don't have enough power on their own band together to legitimize authority and achieve social identity; upward appeal, or a request for support from a higher authority; persuasion, or the use of reasoning, facts, and emotional appeals to persuade others; ingratiation/instruction management, or improving the target's like or perceived resemblance.
