Yes I agree. The concept of professional competence in teachers can be defined as the professional knowledge, beliefs, skills and motivation that guide teachers in their careers. It is linked to the ability of teachers to master knowledge they teach in schools. In order for a teacher to be successful in his or her job, he or she must possess the ability to have professional competence. The key components of the framework are teacher learning, content and pedagogical knowledge, teaching approaches and student learning. In the initial component, teacher learning include this like how a teacher gets initial education, for instance studying in college or university and professional training, the next component is the knowledge gained, which allows a teacher to make decisions and apply the learned skills and knowledge to make decisions related to teaching approaches. The next component is student learning which relies on the approaches used by the teacher. The application of this framework can be seen in an example where a teacher is trained in a school, gains skills and knowledge which allows him or her to make informed decisions on how to teach students and the resulting impact is the learning that takes place, which informs on research that can be done to improve on training and learning of teachers.
