Q5c The culture of students attending lectures late is a major problem affecting many universities in Ghana. there have been calls from stakeholders from the education sector to try and come out with policies that are aimed at changing this behaviour, explain the types of change and explain how these can be applied in the university setting.

Preventing Lecture Lateness among Students

Introduction of a set of rules and policies concerning punctuality to lecture and stick by them without any form of favoritism. This could, be made better by emphasizing the importance of punctuality to learners to encourage them to arrive early for lectures.  Introduction of competition is another strategy that can be used to encourage punctuality among students. This can be implemented through awarding of marks to students who come to class early and dedicating point from learners who come to class late. Lastly, starting a lesson with a bang, i.e., an attention grabbing exercise is also important because it will encourage the learners to come to class early for them not to miss the drama.
