Analyze how information systems support the activities of managers and management decision making. Discuss the three main reasons why investments in information technology do not always produce positive results.
Management information system assists in decision-making since it helps the managers to understand the decision they make. In doing so they collate raw data into reports that are easily understandable to those who make decisions by quickly identifying patterns and trends that could have never been obvious in their raw data form.
Investments in information technology do not always produce positive results because:
1. they are expensive
2. they are prone to cybercrime
3. some organizations do not have qualified personnel to maximise the use of technology
