The history of painting can be traced back to the time of pre-historic humans who used artifacts to carry out their daily activities and it stretches all cultures. The painting as way of represents a continuous and an over disrupted period where the history of painting is still undergoing diverse innovations for it's betterment. Across cultures, and spanning continents and millennia, the history of painting is an ongoing river of creativity, that continues into the 21st century. Early 20th century and beyond, painting primarily focused on representational, religious and classical motifs, after which time more purely abstract and conceptual approaches gained favor.
