Define the term Ubuntu and discuss its role in European exploration in the 19th century
Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: [ùɓúntʼù]) is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity". It is sometimes translated as "I am because we are" (also "I am because you are"), or "humanity towards others" (in Zulu, umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu).
Ubuntu spirit encouraged peaceful co-existance and value for humanity. It helped both Africans Europeans to embrace one another. This spirit promoted European exploration. Ubuntu spirit insisted that one exists because of others and therefore, people need to work together and help one another.
