The decolonization of Africa became rampant after the war because the war helped strengthen Africans to fight for their freedom; there was a significant rise of nationalism in African countries. Also, the war weakened European powers in terms of political and economic strengthens; Europe was highly indebted after the war; as a result, they were unable to support colonizing African countries because they had a huge debt to pay. Besides, the US and colonized states in Africa put pressure on Europe to honor the terms of the Atlantic Charter, which ensured rapid independence in African countries.
