Difine the term ubunt and discuss it's role in Europen exploration in the 19th century
Ubuntu (pronounced [ùntù] in Zulu) is a Nguni Bantu word that means "humanity." It's also known as "I am because we are" (or "I am because you are") or "humanity toward others" (in Zulu, umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu).
The Ubuntu spirit promoted peaceful coexistence and humanity's worth. It made it easier for Africans and Europeans to accept one another. This attitude encouraged European discovery. The Ubuntu spirit argued that one exists because of others, and that individuals must thus collaborate and assist one another.
