We were certain that we had to keep fighting. Anything less would have been an act of complete surrender. Our issue wasn't whether or not to fight, but rather how to keep fighting... The plain facts were that fifty years of nonviolence had resulted in more and more repressive legislation, as well as fewer and fewer rights for Africans.
