1807 Act failed to end the slave trade
Many of the supporters thought the Act would lead to the end of slavery as slavery remained legal in most of the British Empire until the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833.
Many in countries made a profit as a result of slavery.
The pro-slave trade lobby had too many important and powerful figures in the establishment which made it difficult for the revolt to succeed
One of the most pernicious allegations made against the African-American people was that our slave ancestors were either exceptionally “docile” or “content and loyal,” thus explaining their purported failure to rebel extensively.
