Dr. Jose, a reformist leader in Spain, was apprehended, tried in the Spanish court-martial after he was implicated for leading the Philistine revolution. However, the night that was before his death, this revolutionist accounts exist that there were allegations that this doctor retracted his Masonic ideals as well as his writings, then reconverted to Catholicism after hours of persuasion by the Jesuit priests. There were considerable doubts registered by his friends and family until years later, in the mid-1930s, when the retraction letter with Dr. Rizal’s signature was retrieved. There exist several perspectives regarding this retraction. Some argue that the document is forged, while others argue it is authentic since Rizal’s signature was found.
