Retractions are critical for research communication because they emphasize and explain why research initiatives fail, thus avoiding similar errors from being repeated. However, the retraction process and the data it generates are often scant or incomplete. After all, scientists are imperfect people. Our study will always have limitations and may be withdrawn in specific situations. When a retraction occurs, scientists and editors/publishers should collaborate to provide the most comprehensive and transparent information available.
