1.1 Atlantic slave trade refers to a section of the international slave trade that involved the transportation of between ten million and twelve million enslaved Africans across the Atlantic Ocean to Americas from the 16th to 19th century. This kind of slave trade was caused by the colonies that European nations were starting to develop. In America for example, there was high demand for laborers for the sugar, tobacco and cotton plantations. This slave trade was very important in the world history as it formed the major demographic well spring for the re-peopling of the Americas following the collapse of Amerindian population.
1.2 The age of revolution refers to the period from the late 18th century to the mid-19th century where a number of significant revolutionary movements happened in most of Europe and America. This age of revolution motivated the French revolution of the 1789 in which it spread to the rest of Europe through its war. The Age of revolution is very important to the world history as it shaped the modern international system. The revolution contributed to the replacement of absolutist monarchies with that of the representative governments that were grounded in a written constitution of rights, as well as the construction of nation states based around the ideas of shared prosperity.
