Rendering to Macapagal, it was only precise to recognize June twelve 1898 as the nation's true Independence Day since it was the birthdate of the independent Filipino country. However, some historian state that on July 4, 1946, the United States officially acknowledged the independence of the State of the Philippines. Philippines was acknowledged as a self-governing, sovereign nation by the United States, which removed its authority over the archipelago as colonialist. It is not a coincidence that the Philippines shared a liberation day with its previous colonizer. But this overlay was short-lived. When the Philippines altered the date of its Freedom Day holiday in the year 1962, it patent yet another stage away from a long antiquity of western interfering.
