What factors play a role in determining where people live?
Physical factors have been termed as having the greatest impact in determining where people live. For instance, an aspect like the climate is a key consideration for most people, as they tend to avoid extreme temperatures. Other factors include soil, vegetation and landscape. However, in addition to physical factors, economic, historic, and social factors play a crucial role in population distribution. In cities there are high end localities where rates are high and only the rich can afford. On the other hand, historical factors such as slavery played a role in population distribution. Finally, people like to gather in groups thereby forming societies held together by aspects such as culture and religion.
