Why are arabesques and geometric patterns prevalent in Islamic art and architecture?
its because there is a restriction of using using art in religious Islamic art.
Islamic art denote to the features and styles that are prevalent in embroidery , pottery , architecture and others that have have been developed by the Muslim community and refers to those that subscribe to to the Islamic religions. A unique feature over time is the utilization of geometry and arabesques displayed in these arts. They are used in making art because Islamic religion prohibits people ,animal and figures representation,and instead abstract patterns have been encouraged. Thus, arabesques and geometric patterns are prevalent in Islamic art because the use of figure or concrete animals or people is restricted.
