What are your thoughts on the book: Into The Wild?

To cross the Rubicon means to make a decision or take a step that commits one to a specific course of action from which there is no turning back...a point of no return.  Write about an experience that you would deem “crossing your Rubicon” or reflect on a book or movie where a character "crossed their Rubicon."

Jon Krakauer quotes one of McCandless’s friends, who said that McCandless “was born into the wrong century.  He was looking for more adventure and freedom than today’s society gives people” (p. 174). Do you think this is true?

In the epigraph for Chapter 1, Chris states in  a postcard dated April 27, 1992 to Wayne Westerfield…”I now walk into the wild.”  In Chapter 1, he tells Jim Gallien, “ I don’t want to know what time it is.
