You would like to teach Grade 9 learners to write a letter to the press. Explain in detail how you will
take the learners through the writing process to teach them to write a good letter to the press. (50)
To answer this question, you must do the following:
• Refer to each phase, (stage or step) in the process approach to writing.
• Explain how you will take the Grade 9 learners through each of the phases, stages or steps
of the writing process when teaching them to write a good letter to the press.
When it comes to letter writing, this can be important talent or skill an individual can have. Everyone is required to write letters at some point in their lives which can be either job applications, thank you letters, letters demanding changes or making ideas, and so on.
You should inspire students or kids to write letters from a young age to develop their communication, social, and handwriting abilities, as well as to teach them how to write and structure letters.
If the kids/students have ever gotten a personal letter, have them raise their hands. Invite 2 to 3 students to share their reactions to receiving the letter. Here are some questions to get you started in this practice:
1. Have you responded to the letter?
2. Have you saved the letter to read later?
3. As you read the letter, what was going through your mind?
4. Have you told anyone about your letter?
And here are some conversation topics for the full class or group:
1. Ask the students to conduct interviews with one another to learn about their expertise in writing and sending letters.
2. Is it possible for the class to discuss the distinctions between a handwritten letter and an email?
