An individual who is media and information literate has the ability to:
- Has the ability to take in information and remain objective by separating themselves from the sensationalism and bias caused by various media outlets.
- Has the ability to ingest information from various media outlets and use the presented information objectively to formulate their personal ideas, instead of restructure what they have heard.
- Has the ability to resist pressure, popular reply and primary reply from editors and sources.
- Admits being wrong and asks questions that are rather extreme.
