Trace the different individuals who served as National Director of Public
Prosecutions (NDPP) since 1994 and their relationships with the various
Presidents at the time. In this light, discuss the “power” of the office of the NDPP
in relation to nepotism, corruption and state capture.
The power bestowed on a leader to govern its people, once associated with nepotism, corruption, and social capture, the nation is at stake. A leader who thinks the freedom won by the people and the right to self-determination can be handed over to incompetent leaders who are determined to steal from the oppressed in the society. Such a leader does not befit the honor that the nation bestowed on him.
For example, a leader secures tenure successfully for over 1,000 black labor tenants on white-owned farmland; with a clear intention of stealing their victory is given authority by the superiors to do so. Also, the money intended for land redistribution is redirected in shady schemes by the unethical appointed leaders. Considering the leaders have been ordered by the law from the constitution concerning land restitution, redistribution, and tenure security.
The nation experiences increased pain, hunger, thirst, and deprivation due to this while those in authority, ignore their obligation so they can focus on taking away what belongs to the citizens. They are eroding our nation with corruption and their abuse of power.
Money put aside for social services like education, health, and social development is being embezzled by some politicians, public servants, and service providers.
The hold of state capture destroys a lot of state-owned companies, encourages gross financial mismanagement, and promotes land theft through violence and corruption.
