Given the correct programming, media can be a tremendous entertainment and instructional tool for kids. However, studies have shown that television, and media in general, can have a significant negative impact. According to some research, if exposure is unmonitored and unrestricted, it can: reduce attention span, distort body image, contribute to obesity, induce dread, and enhance violent and anti-social behaviors.
