Describe one of the important language policies within the South African education system called liep and what this policy entails
Language-in-Education Policy (LiEP) was introduced to South Africa in July 1997 with the objective of promoting all of South Africa's official language and granting individuals the right to choose the language of learning and teaching. It is based on the principle of the right of children to be educated in their mother tongue whilst having access to a global language such as English. LiEP seeks to maintain home languages while providing access to additional languages. Applications for school admission would include choice of preferred language of teaching.
