how does Shakespeare present indecisiveness in Hamlet. (30 marks)
Shakespeare presents indecisiveness in Hamlet through Hamlet's character. Hamlet fails to act due to chronic indecision throughout the play. He faces moral inner conflict as he is surrounded with sinfulness, and this makes him fail to act. He perceives his mother's and uncle's relationship as incestuous, which adds the misery on the death of his father. His melancholia plagues him in every step of his way; he doubts himself, questions the Ghost and laments whether his actions are truly in the right. He is also self-aware that he is indecisive and devoted to morals, which graves his suffering even more.
