What does the anaphora add to the asyndeton in the following phrase, “We saw no houses, no smoke, no footprints, no boats, no people.” Why does Ralph repeat the phrase, “There isn’t a beastie” five times?

Repetition of words in the endless list of things the boys are yearning for shows how there is no hope for them and that there is a great challenge.

Ralph repeats the phrase five times to emphasize that no was there to rescue them and therefore it was upon them to organize on their rescue as there was no one for their assistance.
