An encounter with someone or something you were afraid of
My blood ran cold as I heard the name of the person I was meant to meet. A flashback of the person who bullied me at school flashed through my thoughts. I feared entering the school gates every day for fear of getting attacked by my bullies. Now I'm about to meet the person I dreaded the most. I prepared to meet the guy I dreaded, and to make matters worse, he was the CEO of the firm for which I had applied. My nerves got the best of me. Even though I kept telling myself that he wouldn't know me, I couldn't help but be terrified. My feet felt like jelly with every step I took. When I arrived at the office, the receptionist directed me to where I needed to go. When I knocked on the door of his private office, I was greeted by a masculine voice inviting me in. I open the door to find a tuxedoed gentleman sitting at his table, staring at me. I was sick to my stomach. Every girl at my school fawned over him. But I'm not sure why he was continually bullying me and calling me the worst names imaginable. I strolled over to his table, thinking the dirt would take me whole. He just stared at me as I handed him my CV. He recognized me; I knew it. It's wonderful to meet you again Smith Rowe, he said as he opened my CV and glanced at me. I couldn't say anything and hoped he wouldn't offer the job and reject my CV. But the odds were stacked against me because I always got the job, and to make matters worse, I was his secretary.
