My two different aspects of politeness were to learn more about other South African cultures and the

differences in cultures. I find it easier to not get offended by other cultures because I have learnt

that sometimes they are not being rude, they are just doing something out of respect like for

example not looking in your eyes when they are busy speaking to me. My expectations of this

module were to learn more about my own linguistic environment. This module has allowed me

to learn more about my own culture by doing research about my own culture. My expectations

of this module were to teach me more about the basics of other languages. I learned more

about the basics of other languages in Unit 1. I really think that this module is very effective.

This module will help me understand when I am a teacher why children do certain stuff and to

not get angry at them but to understand that it is part of their culture and it is how they were

raised. This module has given me a bigger perspective on other cultures. Thisexpperience has

helped me discover more about myself and it has pushed me to gather information about my

culture that made me proud of who I am and where I come from.
