After a month of applying these steps, you realise that some of the learners are still struggling to keep up with the rest of the class. 3.1.1. Name the three reading steps in the reading process which you will use to help learners. (3) 3.1.2 How would you modify the three steps involved in the reading process to accommodate the learners who are being left behind.
The three reading steps in the reading process which I will use to help learners include; using songs and nursery rhymes to build phonemic awareness, understanding the core skills involved in teaching kids to read and playing word games.
How I will modify the three steps involved in the reading process to accommodate the learners who are being left behind include;
1. Teaching the sounds of individual letters.
2. Teaching sound blends.
3. Teaching the whole words.
