The four key categories of criteria that teachers indicated they use when selecting instructional materials are described in the following sections: correctness and visual appeal, alignment to standards and depth of knowledge, ease of use and support, and engagement and capacity to fulfill student needs.
The teacher should keep the following in mind when choosing lesson materials that can lead to
effective implementation of the curriculum:
specifications on the one hand (including some justification for choices made), while avoiding
exhaustive regulations on the other. This will stimulate active adaptation.
