Can Ubuntu be practiced outside of community? Elaborate
Ubuntu is a philosophy that advocates for the greater good of the community as a whole, and I have personally experienced it. One example is when I was involved in a community outreach to help a bereaved family till their land. Second, a child was once disciplined for disrespecting an elderly person because a child is a member of the community and everyone is responsible for enforcing discipline. Ubuntu may lose its meaning, for example, when some people are excluded from the benefits of the practice and when some people are exploited in the name of communalizing work. Ubuntu is not limited to a single community, but also to a larger group, such as the entire nation. When fighting apartheid and inequality, South African President Nelson Mandela emphasized the importance of Ubuntu. Ubuntu can also be found in workplaces where employees treat one another as family. Obuntu is not only practiced by Africans: it has become a global concept in many instances, such as catering to the needs of migrating populations. Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu values everyone's contribution, which means that I am who I am because someone else is.
