What does it mean to use a cosmopolitan approach to citizenship education?
A cosmopolitan approach to citizenship education is a transformative perspective to education that is centered on empowering students to become global citizens through an active involvement in local, national and global communities while seeking to build a better world. Primary features of this education are its acceptance of the shared humanity of all persons as a fact of human existence, as a motivating guide for human interaction and as a requirement of democratic inclusion in deliberations of the governance of those interactions e.g. morality.
