Listening becomes an obstacle for people who have experienced traumatizing events. Barriers of listening include intrusive thoughts about the event coming to their minds. Parts of the event could also be appearing in their mind, leading to them losing focus. Concentration reduces as well as memory, and these are expected mental reactions to trauma. Since the individual’s mind is disoriented, one should find ways if helping them relax e.g., yoga, or meditation. Create time for regular exercises to remove tension from their mind. Keep them close to their family or friends.
