Difine the Athropocene and discuss five key global environmental issues and challenges that have emerged
Anthropocene is the most recent time in history during which human activities have affected climate change and the environment resulting in geological changes. During this period, human activities have resulted in key global environmental issues and challenges. Some of these issues include a rise in oceanic levels, increasing temperatures, loss of biodiversity, ozone layer depletion, and climatic and weather patterns changes. For example, due to human activities of deforestation in search of agricultural lands, rainfall amounts across the globe have significantly reduced. In addition, due to the increasing rate of environmental pollution, the ozone layer has been depleted, resulting in the direct exposure of the earth to solar radiation. This has resulted in increased temperatures affecting crop growth and production, and global food security. In addition, the effect has resulted in the skin and cell-related diseases like cancer. As a result, there is a need for people to think of solutions that will ensure the protection of the environment.
