Provide practical examples to demonstrate how you will apply the following principles of assessment in the classroom:
(a)Validity
(b)Reliability
(c)Efficient
(d) Authentic
(e)Accountable (05)
(a)Validity- the accuracy of the measurements taken during assessment. For instance, while checking the student’s knowledge on a particular subject, it is important to note whether they understand the question or not. If the child does not, then it would be invalid to say that the child does not have any k knowledge on the concept.
(b)Reliability- the consistency and accuracy of an assessment over a period of time. In assessing a child’s knowledge, the test should not be done only once but many times.
(c)Efficient- monitors the students’ learning and how they are adjusting to new instructions and techniques. Providing a test after a given period of time would be advisable
(d) Authentic- checks what and by how much students have learnt a new topic or area. Giving them a test after a certain topic would be the best approach.
(e)Accountable- for checking areas that need additional resources. Giving the students a test that covers a wide topic then assessing which areas they are not giving good results
