Constructivist theory of learning is based on the work theorists such as Jean Piaget, and Lev Vygotsky. The theory is divided into three categories including cognitive constructivism, social constructivism and radical constructivism. In essence, the theory of constructivism suggests that leaners have the ability to construct knowledge, as opposed to taking in information passively. The theory furthers advancement of skills such as analysis and evaluation, critical thinking, and promotes diverse view points.
