Discuss two laws in UK that promote good ethical practice in an organisation that you work in or know.
Laws that encourage good ethical behavior exist in nearly all organizations. In the UK, for example, laws have been tailored that dictate the code of conduct that workers in organizations are bound to. These laws include;
1) Anti-discrimination – this provides for equal opportunity to all individuals who are duly qualified without being discriminated on basis of color, age, nationality or even sex. This helps build diversity within the organization which consequentially results into a positive attitude to each and every employee.
2) Child labor laws – the organization is required by law to comply to all minimum age regulations and avoid employing either permanently or giving short term jobs to people under the age of 15. This underaged ‘workers’ pose a danger to their health and morals and should therefore not be employed.
