Laura championed for equality and was against slavery at all cost. She also advocated for women education, war and marriage. Life in the renaissance was characterized with challenges, more so when it comes to women and the people of colour who were enslaved. Women were also objectified. Jane on the other hand challenged male supremacy and upheld and defended her sexuality. She stood firm as a woman and made it clear that she was not suppressed by men.
