The Cross of Jesus is an expression of the triumph of God’s love over humanity. In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells Nicodemus that, “the son of Man must be lifted up to open the way for humanity to eternal life with God. This gospel describes the cross as a symbol of the coming triumph. In John 12:32, Jesus explains that, “when I am lifted, I will draw all things to myself.” The horror and pain experienced by Jesus on the cross was a pathway to humanity glory which is an expression of the triumph of God’s love over humanity.
As a Christian, I view the suffering of Jesus as an example to help the people who are suffering. Like Jesus was preparing to go to heaven through suffering, evil and pain experienced by Christians for the sake of God is a preparation for the glorious entry into heaven
