Negative attitudes towards learners with special needs lead to an unfriendly learning environment in the classrooms for the special needs students. This in return leads to them losing interest and feel discriminated against in the classrooms since the negative attitudes prevent, limit, and even discourage learning in the classroom. This is likely to result in poor performance from the students. Not only are the special needs students affected but also other students in the classroom as well since they are distracted by the negative attitudes towards the special students. Overall, in a class setting, positive growth and change are limited for all due to negative attitudes towards learners with special needs.
