A day prior to the victory tour, the president meets up with Katniss Everdeen informing her that the districts viewed her acts with the berries as defiance. President Snow threatens to harm Katniss's family if he is not convinced that she is in love with Peeta.

In District 8, Peeta and Katniss read the cards given to them by Effie. The two fallen tributes are displayed on holographic screens for the crowds to watch.

In District 4, Katniss is approached by a young girl who declares that she would love to participate in hunger games like Katniss when she grows up.

In District 3, the crowd yells in anger and vengeance at the two, a woman cries out in agony at Katniss with an urge for rebellion.
