One dominant connection is that of access to information and how it is regulated, suppressed, and even denied in some countries. Two arguments can be drawn from this. On the one side, access to information is a fundamental freedom for everyone. Manifest from that is the ability to watch a show without certain bits of information being left out, in specific regions. It draws another connection in the form of discrimination because different regions experience differential treatment in terms of what information they access. On the other hand, access to information is censored with the justification of cultural restraints. Here the other connection is cultural relativism. Countries such as Turkey argue that censorship is necessary because of the type of society they are, which allegedly does not tolerate certain forms of behavior.
