The father tries to monitor the stranger through peeping through a window.
After the stranger finishes his tour outside, he approaches the house and enters and starts tiptoeing from one room to another. The father and mother accompany the man in his trip since the motives of the man were not clear. The author also describes antagonisms developing between the father and the stranger. Subsequently, the father gets annoyed when the stranger enters the study room of his children. At this moment the father jumps and grabs the man shoulder and tells him that the visit is over.
