A bilingual speaker is one one who has a mastery of two languages. The first language acquired is their mother tongue or native language, followed by a national or foreign language. In learning the second language, the speaker may face cultural, political or linguistic problems. In such a case, they impose features of their first language or other languages when writing or speaking the second language. An imposed language, sometimes, may end up replacing preexisting vernacular languages.
