A democratic /participative leader is proactive in the decision-making process of a group, besides fostering cooperative teamwork and establishing good relationships. Examples of participative leaders include social workers, facilitators, and arbitrators. Conversely, an autocratic leader takes personal control over all decisions in a group, and does not accept opinions from team members. A laissez-faire leader lets team members to make the vast majority of decisions in a group.
