Question #262514

A journal runs in a bearing diameter , 25mm , and length 100 mm at 25 . The clearance gap is 0.8 mm . The lubricant used has a dynamic viscosity of 80 CP . The bearing must carry a side load of 800N . Calculate the values of:

(A)

The friction force will be:

F=ma

="800\\times 25"

"20,000= 20KN"

(B)

Coefficient of friction is defined as the ratio of the force required to move tow sliding surfaces over each other, and the force holding them together.

"20,000\/800=25"

answer will be "25"
