An electric motor with a 100mm diameter pulled revolves at 100 rev./min. The motor drives a line shaft by means of a flat belt, calculate the speed of the belt in meters per second. (314m/min)
The diameter of pulley(d)=100 mm=0.100 m
Rotational speed(N)=100 rpm
The speed of belt passing over the pulley (Linear speed) is given as,
V="\\frac{\\pi \u00d7d\u00d7N}{60}=\\frac{3.14\u00d70.100\u00d7100}{60}=0.5233" meters/seconds =0.5233×60=31.4 meters/minutes
