Gaseous Pollutants are those pollutants which are in the gas form and make air pollution like SO2, H2S, CO etc.

Whereas Particulate pollutants are those which remain in particle form and remain in the air like Fe dust, Small particle of C etc. The size of the Particles are 10 - 2.5PM.


The dry adiabatic lapse rate is approximately a 5.5 degree Fahrenheit change in temperature for every 1000 feet of vertical movement.

Whereas The environmental lapse rate (ELR), is the rate of decrease of temperature with altitude in the stationary atmosphere at a given time and location.
