Carbon dioxide and water vapour are considered greenhouse gases. This statement means that these compounds adsorb much heat due to high heat capacity. As the temperature increases, more water evaporates from the water bodies surfaces. As a result, more heat produced by solar radiation is stored in the atmosphere. The accumulation of these gases in the atmosphere leads to the situation when the Earth cannot be cooled. As a result, the average temperature increases leading to global warming.
