"l" ranges from 0 to (n-1)

Hence for the above element X, "l" ranges from 0 to 4

m ranges from -"l" to +"l" hence possible values of m are -4 to +4

ii.)number of orbitals = "2l+1"


iii.) The general formula is that the nth shell can in principle hold up to 2(n2) electrons.

so for n=3 number of electrons =2*3*3 = 18
