Relative atomic mass of any element is the weighted average of all the isotopes of that atom present.

For instance chlorine exists as two isotopes

Chlorine 35 percentage - 75%


Chlorine 37 percentage - 25%


RAM = [(75*35) + (25*37)]/ 100


RAM = 142/4 = 35.5 amu


Thus, the relative atomic mass number of chlorine is 35.5.
