Question #143652

How is molar polarisation of polar molecules affected with decrease in temperature?

Expert's answer

For polar molecules, molar polarization increases with a decrease in temperature, while for non polar molecules, molar polarization is independent on temperature.

The total molar polarization(PM)(P_M) increases with inverse in temperature(( 1T1\over T )) for polar molecules.

When a graph is drawn for (PM)(P_M) against (( 1T1\over T )) , a finite, positive slope can be observed.
